Step 1 - Notes

Notes:

1.

If applicants choose to defer loan repayment during the further extended suspension period (1 April 2024 to 31 March 2025), they need not submit the "Reply Form for Choosing to Opt Out of the Deferral of Loan Repayment" (Reply Form) or inform SFO.

2.

The date of submission of the online Reply Form by loan borrower or his/her indemnifier will be regarded as the date of request to opt out of the deferral of loan repayment.

3.

Loan borrower or his/her indemnifier are obligated to provide all the personal particulars and contact information as requested in the Reply Form. SFO may not be able to process the request to opt out of the deferral of loan repayment if the loan borrower or his/her indemnifier fails to provide such required data or documents.

4.

If there is a change in correspondence address, you are required to provide a copy of documentary evidence showing the new address in the past three months by post, fax or email. Documentary evidence of address should be letters issued by the Government bureaux/departments, public organisations/utilities or commercial organisations. If necessary, you may be required to produce the documentary evidence in originals.

1.

The date of submission will be regarded as the date of request.

2.

Applicable to loan borrowers whose loan accounts are activated for repayment upon graduation/completion of study during the period from 1 April 2020 to 31 March 2025. Upon receipt of the Reply Form, SFO will arrange commencement of loan repayment on the original first instalment due date as stated in the letter on interest-free deferral of loan repayment issued earlier. Interest will be charged based on the provisions as laid down on the latest Undertaking(s) signed by the loan borrower for individual loan account(s).
